Brunch at Lawa Bintang!
I’ve been eager to try the highly praised LOBSTER nasi lemak (like, wow!). This hidden gem is located in a modest coffee shop in Tampines West, which can be a bit tricky to find from the MRT (best to drive here). But trust me, the food is so superb that many dishes sell out by 11 a.m.!
They offer a unique spread of Nasi Lemak ingredients, including the famous grilled squid, salmon, barramundi, and even crayfish! All the seafood is freshly imported from Malaysia every day too.
Nasi Lemak Lobster ($22)
This dish features a whole lobster coated with three types of cheese, spices, and herbs—fresh, sweet, and succulent lobster meat!
It comes with a bed of fluffy basmati rice, a fried egg, peanuts, super crispy anchovies, and a generous serving of addictive sweet and spicy sambal chili!
Just a heads up: there are some burnt parts of the lobster shell that can affect the flavor, so avoid scooping up those burnt bits! 👌🏼
Nasi Lemak Grilled Prawn ($9)
Oh my goodness, this was absolutely amazing too!
Five big, juicy prawns are coated in a spicy (tastes like Cajun) cheese sauce.
Even the prawn shells are smoky and packed with flavor; we were sucking the juices from the shells, trying to savor every last bit! 👅
This dish is just as highly recommended as the lobster—in fact, I enjoyed it even more because of that delicious spicy cheese sauce!
I highly recommend dining in at the shop to enjoy your meal fresh from the plate. It may take a bit longer for them to serve, as they grill the seafood on the spot, but trust me, it’s worth it!
I can’t wait to try the grilled squid and crispy barramundi next!
Check them out!
